Man injured in front of South Memphis church during shooting as Memphis Police search for suspects
Officers responded to the shooting at 1865 Rile Street at 9:13 a.m. Police say the man was located and transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.
A member of the church says the pastor, identified as 70-year-old Clemmie Livingston Jr., was shot while attempting to stop two men from stealing a Sunday school teacher’s car.
Police say the suspects fired shots at Livingston as they fled the scene in the 2019 silver Chevrolet Corvette.
A second person, who was outside of the church, reportedly fired shots back at the suspects after Livingston was shot.
