A man has been charged with child stealing and assault and battery by strangulation.
The affidavit for John Byrer says on October 13th, he and his girlfriend got into an argument over her wanting to go back to Indiana with their 4 month old child.
It says she told police, Byrer grabbed her around the neck and strangled her, then, left with the child.
It says Bryer is not on the birth certificate in Indiana and Byrer has made no claim in Oklahoma courts, as to paternity, so he didn’t have a right to the child.
It says the woman said Bryer allowed her to see the child to feed it, but, refused to let her have the baby.
It says the woman provided evidence Bryer was driving at high speeds with the baby resting on his chest and not strapped into a car seat.
These are charges, not convictions.
