REIDSVILLE MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER FATAL SHOOTING ON SOUTH SCALES STREET:
One man is dead and another has been arrested on an assault charge following a shooting in Reidsville on Monday.
In a news release from Captain Brian Oakley of the Reidsville Police Department, the shooting happened Monday, June 20th, at 12:26 pm.
That’s when Reidsville responded to the 2100 block of South Scales Street due to a shooting.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located 32-year-old Keith Clark with multiple gunshot wounds.
Clark was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
According to Captain Oakley, 34-year-old Lavaniel Nevario King of Reidsville was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.
King was placed in Rockingham County Jail in Wentworth under a $750,000.00 secured bond. His court date is set for June 30th in Rockingham County District Court.
No word on the motive in the shooting or if anyone else faces charges in the case. But the statement from Captain Oakley said the investigation is still ongoing.
