Utah -A 20-year-old man was indicted on federal charges Wednesday who officials said drove to Texas with a 14-year-old girl from Utah.
Frank David Lopez, age 20, was taken into custody in Texas after police identified him as the suspect in a Utah AMBER Alert
According to the court affidavit, Unified Police shared information with the FBI San Antonio field office about Lopez’s whereabouts.
Officers from the San Antonio Police Department were able to locate Lopez and the girl walking together.
Lopez was taken into custody and questioned.
Investigators said Lopez told them he first met the teen online in Aug. 2021.
He said the two communicated daily.
They said Lopez admitted to going to Utah, meeting up with the girl and driving her back to Utah without her parents’ permission.
