Man dies after motel shooting
Oklahoma – just after 11:00 p.m., Officers responded to the Studio Star Motel near 47th and Braden for a shooting.
Officers found the victim, 52-year-old Samuel Mack, in the hallway of the motel with multiple gunshot wounds. Mack was taken to the hospital and died a short time later.
Several witnesses told Officers there was an altercation inside the motel with several individuals involved. At one point, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
Through the investigation, Detectives identified the shooting suspect as Solomon McCall.
Detectives tracked down McCall and interviewed him about the shooting, where he claimed he acted in self-defense.
Due to the complexity of this case, all the evidentiary details and investigative findings are being submitted to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office. The DA’s Office will thoroughly review the details and determine if additional charges are warranted.
At this time, Solomon McCall was arrested for Possession of a Firearm AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony).
