A man convicted of 7 counts of rape and sentenced to 15 years in prison, is now out, after serving less than 5 years.
I covered Wesley Harrison when he pleaded guilty in 2017 to raping women who were patients at a Broken Arrow Rehabilitation, where he was a nurse.
In addition to the 15 year prison sentence, he was told to surrender his nursing license and register as a sex offender when released.
Records show he was admitted into prison 2-9-18 and released on 10-30-22.
The case happened in 2016 and he got credit for the time he spent in jail as the case was going through the courts.
In addition to that, D.O.C. says he was a level 4 prison, who was earning credits for trying to better himself in prison and for good behavior, because he had no misconducts reported while behind bars.
D.O.C. says it’s important to offer prisoners incentive to behave while in prison and to better themselves, so they get out, become productive citizens and never return.
D.O.C. is working on changing how to strip a prisoner of their credits (days) earned, if they do have serious violations, to make sure violent offenders are not being released before they should.
