A man committed suicide at the Italian Airport in Milan in a terrible accident after he ran towards a plane that was preparing to take off. NSFW even though the video is blurred.
The victim was reportedly not a staff member of the airport or a traveler, but rather a trespasser who entered the runway at around 10:20 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning before being sucked into the engine of a plan which was preparing for takeoff.
The victim gained access to the runway by entering through a security door, which was marked as leading “directly to the aircraft parking areas.”
Il Caravaggio International sources told Corriere della Sera that the victim “entered the wrong way near the terminal, abandoned his car, and started running towards the inside.”
He then reportedly made his way to the arrivals area located on the airport’s ground floor before he entered the security door leading to the runway.
Flight operations were suspended at the airport on Tuesday morning from 10:20 a.m. until around noon local time “due to a problem that occurred on the taxiway.”
At least nine flights were delayed and a further 19 were cancelled after the incident. “The cause of the problem is currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities,” a statement on the airport’s website reads.
