A man with a previous DUI conviction, is now charged with DUI, child endangerment and leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage.
The affidavit for James Goff says he crashed into a woman’s car on December 4th, 2022 around 10:15 PM near 86th Street North and Sheridan.
It says Goff left the scene when he realized police were coming and left his two teenage passengers behind.
The teens say he had picked them up at Los Cabos and was taking them home and they believed he was very intoxicated based on how he smelled and his erratic driving.
They say he was speeding and couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the woman.
It says the Goff and the 2 teens got out and the teens told the victim, Goff was very intoxicated, so she took pictures of his vehicle and tag, right before he took off.
It says TCSO stopped Goff a short time later and he was combative during the field sobriety tests.
It says they took Goff to OSU to be treated for excessive alcohol related symptoms where he was admitted to the ICU.
Records show Goff was convicted of misdemeanor DUI in August of 2002 and given a 1 year suspended sentence.
He was also convicted in May of 2000 of burglary, assault and battery, attempted burglary of an auto and public drunk and got a 30 month suspended sentence.
