Man who’s charged with a DUI crash that killed a little girl and while he was out on bond for that case, got arrested for a new DUI.
The bond for Austin Shanks has now been revoked.
The Tulsa County DA’s office argued Shanks is looking at prison time, has failed to show up for court before and now he’s charged with the same crime as before.
They argued no amount of bond would keep the community safe and the judge agreed.
Shanks is charged with manslaughter and DUI in Tulsa County for a 2017 case where he hit a 9 year old girl, who later died.
The affidavit says Shanks and his girlfriend had been playing disc golf at Chandler Park and drinking beer, when he slammed into a woman and her 9 year old daughter who were with other family members, standing off to the side of the road, taking a picture of the Chandler Park sign.
The mother had a broken pelvis and the 9 year old girl was paralyzed from a crushed pelvis and later died after numerous surgeries.
Shanks was recently arrested by a Bernice Police officer for DUI, having 3 loaded guns, several baggies of meth, scales and an open 30 pack of beer in his truck.
