RawNews1st – At approximately 3:06 pm the Roanoke Rapids Police Department acting on a tip searched an area just east of Garysburg along Old Highway in Northampton County in reference to the missing person case of Quameisha Branch.
Members of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department located the victim deceased.
Police immediately contacted the Northampton County Sheriff’s office and Garysburg Police Department to assist us with the death investigation.
It was determined that the victim died of an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Based upon their investigation, a murder warrant was issued for the arrest of Marquette Douglas (27 years of age) of the Garysburg area. If you know this suspect please call 911 immediately or contact your local authorities.
The Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444, Douglas is considered armed and dangerous.
Detective M. Hunsucker is the Lead Investigator in this case.
