MURDER ARREST — Man arrested for killing his father and shooting father’s girlfriend
On November 6th, 2025, around 8:45 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers responded to a shooting call at New Haven apartments near 62nd Street and Peoria.
Officers arrived to find 61-year-old Ted Gilford Sr. and his girlfriend, both with gunshot wounds, in their apartment. Both were taken to the hospital, and Gilford Sr. died as a result of his injuries. The girlfriend was hospitalized and last listed as stable.
Witnesses in nearby apartments said they heard a commotion next door before gunshots.
Detectives learned the suspect, 29-year-old Ted Gilford Jr., is the son of the victim, and he ran from the scene after the shooting. Witnesses reported that he frequently causes disturbances with his father in the complex.
The Tulsa Police Helicopter helped spot Gilford Jr. in the area and Officers took him into custody.
Gilford Jr. was arrested for 1st Degree Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
