A 26-year-old Fairburn man was arrested early on Dec. 28 after attempting to deliver contraband to Washington State Prison
The incident unfolded in the early hours when Washington County Deputies, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) K9 Unit, were alerted to a potential trespasser on the prison property.
A swift response from the GDC K9 team led to the apprehension of the suspect, later identified as Jerry Norman III. Norman was found in possession of illegal substances intended for distribution within the prison.
He now faces a series of serious charges, including Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Trading With Inmates, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute—all felonies.
Additionally, Norman is facing charges from a prior investigation involving a separate contraband drop, including Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
