New information has been released after a man was arrested for two counts of first-degree murder after a deadly shooting on Friday in Huntington.

The United States Marshal Service says its members led the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) to arrest Kevante Jaimere White, 27, on Sunday.

White was wanted by authorities in Huntington for two counts of first-degree murder and one count of malicious or unlawful assault with a firearm.

He was involved in a verbal altercation on Friday with a group of men in a parking lot in the 300 block of 14th Street in Huntington, killing Adrian Phillips and Derious Johnson.

Members of the NOVFTF began searching for White in Akron, and eventually their investigation led them to an address in Canton in the 4600 block of Grandview Ave. NW. White was arrested there by NOVFTF.

A third victim survived and is believed to still be in serious condition.

The U.S. Marshals Service says White was quickly identified as the suspect in the crime and he was found to be on supervision with the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.

They say White was being supervised for original offenses of aggravated robbery and felonious assault out of Summit County, Ohio.

White was released in November of 2025 after serving a 10-year sentence.

Investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service in West Virginia worked with the Huntington Police Department, as well as with the NOVFTF, after they discovered White was likely hiding in Ohio.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, White will remain in custody at the Stark County Jail until he can be extradited back to Huntington
