GREENSBORO MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MURDER (AND OTHER CHARGES) AFTER BODY FOUND IN HENRY COUNTY VIRGINIA ON APRIL 14TH:
The Greensboro Police Department has announced the arrest of a man for murder and other charges after a body was found in Henry County Virginia.
Greensboro Police are conducting a homicide investigation related to a missing persons case for 38-year-old James Devon Goolsby of Greensboro. According to the department – through the course of their investigation – a suspect in Goolsby’s disappearance was identified as 53-year-old John Richardson of Greensboro.
Richardson was charged on Friday, April 22nd, with First Degree Murder; Concealment of Death; Dismember/Destroy Human Remains; Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon; and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Richardson is being held at the Guilford County Jail with no bond.
On March 28th – James Devon Goolsby was reported as a missing person to the Greensboro Police Department.
Information was gathered throughout the investigation that led detectives to suspect foul play – and a person of interest in Goolsby’s disappearance was identified as John Richardson.
Detectives received information that the body of Goolsby was located in Henry County Virginia. Detectives, along with deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a search and located the remains of Goolsby on April 14th.
On that date, Henry County Sheriff Lane Perry told local media that his department assisted the Greensboro Police in finding a body on the George Taylor Road in the Spencer community of Henry County and that further information about the case would come from Greensboro authorities.
The suspect, John Richardson, has also been charged with first degree murder involving victims Mark Anthony Gilbert, Jr. on April 19th and Michael A. Hemphill on April 13th. The investigation is ongoing.
