Man accused of drowning dog in pool during domestic dispute

Flordia: Corey Vaughn Dacres, 25, was arrested Sunday after killing his family’s beloved pit bull terrier named Unity at the San Tropez apartment complex pool in Pembroke Pines, officials said.

Police said Dacres left his residence with the 6-year-old dog in tow following a heated argument with his family Sunday night, tossing the helpless pooch over the fence towards the community pool.

After hopping the 5-foot fence, Dacres proceeded to shove Unity underwater, holding the pit bull there until she drowned.

He then returned home to tell his family what he had just done, prompting them to call police.

“It appears that the actions that he took to kill the family dog was a revengeful action as a result of an argument he had with his family,” Pembroke Pines Police spokesperson Al Xiques told NBC 6.
