Male died from suicide at Luhr Elementary School in Louisville, KY
Officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department are on the scene of an active investigation near the Luhr Elementary School Friday.
According to reports, law enforcement agencies were called to the scene following a death by suicide.
Authorities arrived at a home near the school campus located in the area of 6900 Fegenbush Ln, Louisville, KY, and located a male suffering an apparent gunshot injury.
The male was located inside a home near the school campus. Preliminary investigations determined that the male shot himself in the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Law enforcement agencies are now investigating a death by suicide from a shooting.
The Jefferson County School District has not released any official statement in connection to the incident. The school was placed on a secured protocol as law enforcement agencies respond to the investigations.
