A Tulsa man, who’d been out of prison about a month, has been arrested, accused of shoplifting from Wal-Mart, then knocking down a loss prevention employee and taking off running, only to be hit by a car.
The probable cause affidavit for Michael Grant, says it happened February 29th when he loaded up nearly $1,300 worth of merchandise in a cart, then went out a fire exit from the store, without paying.
It says loss prevention employees were waiting for him outside and he charged at them, knocking one to the ground, injuring their knee.
It says he abandoned the car and loot and took off running and seconds later, officers got the call about him being hit by a car.
Records show the following convictions in Tulsa County:
June 2022: assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; sentenced to 3 years in prison (3 in and 3 suspended).
He served less than 7 months and was released on 1-21-24.
April 2019: burglary; 6 years in prison; released after 1 year and 8 months.
The new larceny, assault and battery and drug charges are not convictions.
