Maduro ally was ‘DEA informant’ before arrest — documents reveal
Alex Saab a close ally to the Venezuelan president, cooperated with US drug agencies for nearly a year as a confidential source.
Saab agreed to act as an “active law enforcement source” for the DEA and confessed to paying bribes to Venezuelan authorities.
However, he was deactivated as a source after failing to meet a 30 May 2019 deadline to surrender himself.
