Loveland Police Seeking Information on Road Rage Investigation
On October 1, 2023, at 2:46 pm, the Loveland Police Department dispatch center received a 911 call reporting a shooting had just occurred stemming from a road rage incident on East Eisenhower Boulevard between Sculptor Drive and Denver Avenue.
Loveland Police Officers responded to the scene and contacted the victim, a 52-year-old male.
The victim reported while he was traveling westbound on his motorcycle on East Eisenhower Boulevard, a silver SUV occupied by a single male, pointed a “Glock” style handgun at him and fired two shots.
The victim was not injured. Officers on scene were unable to immediately locate the suspect vehicle but had developed several viable leads to pursue.
On October 2, 2023, detectives identified a suspect vehicle and the registered owner.
Following a search warrant on the suspect vehicle and a residence in the 2000 block of Silverheels Drive in Loveland, Colorado, detectives arrested Daniel Alcazar; 57 years old from Loveland.
On October 2, 2023, Daniel Alcazar was transported to the Larimer County Jail and booked on the following offenses:
C.R.S. 18-3-103(1) Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, Class 3 Felony
C.R.S. 18-3-201(1)(a) Menacing/Intimidation with a gun, Class 5 Felony
On October 3, 2023, Daniel Alcazar was issued a $25,000 cash/surety bond by the Larimer County Courts.
Loveland Police Detectives are asking for anyone who may have been in the area when this incident occurred and may have witnessed any part of this incident to please call the Loveland Police Department tip line at (970) 962-2032 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at (970) 221-6868.
The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
