The Longting Bridge, located in Sansui County, Guizhou Province, China, collapsed.
The bridge, built in the 1960s, had three arches and, surprisingly, no reinforcement bars in its structure.
Chinese authorities claimed the incident was a “natural collapse” and stated that “there were no casualties” and that demolition and reconstruction work had already begun.
However, the term “natural collapse” raises questions, as the lack of clear explanations leaves room for doubt about the real causes of the collapse.
