LEGO and BMW have teamed up to push the boundaries of creativity, transforming the popular BMW R 1200 GS Adventure motorcycle into an innovative hoverbike concept.
The collaboration started with a 603-piece LEGO Technic model set, which allowed builders to recreate the iconic adventure bike in brick form.
But rather than stopping there, the design teams at LEGO Technic and BMW Motorrad decided to take things a step further by reimagining those same LEGO pieces into a futuristic hover ride.
This alternate build, true to the spirit of LEGO’s 2-in-1 kits, inspired BMW to create a full-scale version using real motorcycle components.
Built by the BMW Junior Company in Munich, the life-size hover ride concept stays true to both BMW’s signature design language and LEGO Technic’s mechanical aesthetics. Key elements, such as the boxer engine and GS silhouette, blend seamlessly with creative modifications like a front-wheel rim repurposed into a propeller.
Speaking on the project, BMW Motorrad’s head of sales, Heiner Faust, emphasized the synergy between LEGO and BMW, stating that both brands merge tradition and innovation to create unforgettable experiences. The full-scale hoverbike debuted at LEGO World in Copenhagen.
