A loud boom heard throughout Louisville Tuesday afternoon was from a large explosion in the Clifton neighborhood, sources say.
They are asking people in a two-block radius to evacuate and those in a one-mile radius to shelter in place. It said there are hazardous materials involved.
Sources tell WLKY people are “missing and trapped inside.” Louisville Fire officials said at least two people have been transported to hospitals.
We’re told the explosion happened at the Givaudan Sense Colour plant in the 1900 block of Payne Street.
Quills on Bellaire and Frankfort, about a mile from the explosion, had its windows blown out.
