Lando Norris won the Hungarian Grand Prix, the final race before the summer break
Lando Norris won the Hungarian Grand Prix, the final race before the summer break. He secured the victory by holding off his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, who had been leading the race. Charles Leclerc, who had also led for a significant portion, finished third.
What a day for Lando Norris. He tumbled a few places at the start of the race but a bold strategy call has handed him his fourth win of the season, cutting the deficit to Oscar Piastri in the drivers’ championship to nine points.
Charles Leclerc was penalised for the incident with George Russell and ends his miserable day in the cockpit in fourth spot, Fernando Alonso finshes fifth – a great result given the troubles with his back – and Gabriel Bortoleto takes a career-best sixth place for Sauber.
