Floyd County Circuit Court official said two officers were killed along with a K-9 officer and six others were injured, including five officers and an emergency management official.
The suspect, Lance Storz, 49, is expected to appear in court Friday morning.
He faces multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder of a police officer and assault on a service animal.
Kentucky State Police said deputies were attempting to serve papers at a residence in Allen, Ky., when Storz allegedly barricaded himself and began shooting at them.
