The named suspect in the shooting last week of a two-year-old child at 99 Pinecrest Drive in Waterbury has turned himself in to the Waterbury Police.
Waterbury Police had obtained an arrest warrant for Kharis Samuels (20 Years Old) of 37 Ridgeway Avenue in Waterbury and Samuels turned himself in at WPD Headquarters and was charged with the following offenses:
• Assault 1st Degree
• Illegal Discharge of Firearm, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree
• Illegal Transfer of Pistol / Revolver
• Criminal Use of Weapon
• Carrying a Pistol without a Permit
• Illegal Possession of Weapon in a Motor Vehicle
• Risk of Injury to a Child.
Samuels is being held by WPD on a $750K bond pending court arraignment today.
The two year old victim continues to remain in stable condition and is recovering at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT.
