Key witness in FBI case against Julian Assange held in custody to stop “crime spree” — including soliciting underage boys for SEX (Report)
Sigurdur Thordarson, whose testimony the FBI is using to justify extraditing Julian Assange from Britain has reportedly been arrested in Iceland after police requested his detention to halt an ongoing crime spree, local newspaper Stinson reports.
Thordarson aka “Siggi the Hacker,” was placed into custody last month, for alleged financial crimes and soliciting underage boys for sex. A judge agreed with police that if Thordarson remained free, he would continue an ongoing spree of crimes, the paper said.
In January, a British judge denied the US extradition request, but the decision was justified by humanitarian concerns rather than any flaws in the legal argument against Assange.
