At about 4 p.m., police say an attack happened at a home in the 3300 block of Palmhill Lane in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon arrival, they found a womam dead at the scene.
A man was taken to UC Medical Center with serious injuries.
The victim was identified as 75-year-old Barbara Mortimer.
Kenneth Mortimer got into an argument with his mother, Barbara Mortimer, when she told him he could not stay the night at their family home. She urged his father, Thomas Mortimer, to call psychiatric services and the dispute turned physical.
Kenneth Mortimer allegedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen, approached his parents, who were sitting on the couch, and began stabbing them.
His mother ran out of the front door, where her son allegedly took her to the ground. He dragged her back inside and stabbed her multiple times.
Kenneth Mortimer fled the scene but Cincinnati police found him a short time later.
He allegedly told officers that he stabbed both of his parents.
Kenneth Mortimer is held at the Hamilton County jail on charges of murder, attempted murder and felonious assault.
He was given a $2 million cash bond.
