
Authorities closed Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway in both directions between Virginia Avenue and Parkway Drive, Northwest, as well as Virginia Avenue westbound at 27th Street, Northwest. All lanes have since reopened.
A bomb threat at the Kennedy Center prompted an evacuation and road closures Thursday afternoon, but security has since given the all-clear, and performances will proceed as scheduled, according to a center spokesperson.

Park police have not provided details on the origin of the threat, and it remains unclear who made the call.
Officials have not confirmed whether any explosives were ever present at the Kennedy Center.
