Northern District detectives arrested 34-year-old Keith Hicks in the 2300 block of Cylbum Avenue.
Hicks was arrested for the shooting that occurred on July 02, 2022, in the 5700 block of Eastern Avenue.Detectives believe Simms shot a 53-year-old female victim following a robbery.
Officers transported Keith Hicks to Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with attempted 1st-degree murder.
When officers arrived, officers located a 53-year-old female victim inside the location suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, described as a Hispanic or light-skinned black male wearing a black Nike jacket and black sweatpants, attempted to rob the Business when the employee intervened and was shot.
Southeast District Shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control over the investigation.
