Kazakh Crisis UPDATE: “Dozens” of protestors KILLED, 13 Security DEAD inc 2 beheaded (TASS video)
Dozens of protesters were “liquidated” after attempting to storm govt buildings overnight Wednesday in Almaty a Kazakh police spox claimed Thursday – with authorities also stating 13 security personnel were killed, including 2 beheaded.
Footage released Thursday shows a special military operation which surrounded rioters and resulted in a shootout in Almaty’s Republic Square.
The city commandant’s office said a further 353 law enforcement officers were injured.
Armed peacekeepers from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be deployed “for a limited time” to help stabilize the situation.
