KAMALA Harris was gifted a swanky new car by her much older lover and set up with a job that propelled her to power, according to bombshell revelations in a new book.
During her fling with a Democratic bigwig, the future Vice President reportedly received a BMW and was whisked away on expensive trips to Paris and the Academy Awards.
Harris, who was 29, began the relationship with Willie Brown, then 60, in 1994 while Brown served as speaker of the California Assembly.
Brown, who was said to be married at the time, had been separated from his wife — Blanche — since 1982. reports Time Magazine.
“Over the course of the relationship, Brown gave Harris a BMW, she traveled with him to Paris, attended the Academy Awards,” wrote journalist Dean Morain in his 2021 book Kamala’s Way: An American Life.
The pair’s relationship was well-known in the San Francisco area with the local papers calling Harris “the speaker’s new steady” or Brown’s “frequent companion.”
Shortly before his term expired in November 1994, Brown appointed Harris to the California Medical Assistance Commission.
The U.S. Sun reached out to both Harris and Brown for comment.
In 2019, the Texas native opened up about his relationship with Harris and the role he played in her career.
“Yes, we dated,” he said in an opinion piece for the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker. And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco.”
Harris, 59, was elected as the district attorney in 2003 and served for seven years before becoming California’s Attorney General in 2010.
