A Tulsa man pleads guilty in federal court to a home invasion robbery that ended with the death of the victim and the other suspect.
Federal prosecutors say Justin Harjo pleaded guilty to conspiracy to use a gun during a crime of violence.
Harjo admitted he and Chauncey Thomas decided to rob Dion Carr’s home on May 23rd, 2019.
Harjo drove Thomas to Carr’s home and tried to follow Thomas in through a window.
As Thomas was crawling through the window with a gun, he was confronted by the victim.
Thomas and the victim struggled over the gun and both were shot.
The victim died right there.
Harjo helped Thomas escape and dumped him off at a hospital entrance and took off, then Harjo burned the vehicle they’d used.
Thomas died three days later.
Harjo will be sentenced in February and based on the plea agreement, is expected to serve 18 years.
