Hipgnosis Songs Capital is in talks to buy Justin Bieber’s interests in his recorded music and publishing catalogs for more than $200 million, with the deal likely to close in the next few days, according to sources.
The acquisition would include Bieber’s biggest hits, from “Baby” to “Love Yourself” and beyond.
Earlier this week, Bieber denounced a new collection of H&M clothing that features his face.
“I didn’t approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M,” he wrote in a now-expired Instagram Stories post. “All without my permission and approval. SMH I wouldn’t buy it if I were you.”
He described the seemingly unauthorized merch as “trash” and encouraged his fans to avoid purchasing any of it.
According to the fashion retailer, the collection was officially licensed and the merch went through the usual “approval procedures” before making it onto store shelves.
The products are no longer to purchase on H&M’s website.
