Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives charged a Vale, NC with shooting into occupied property in connection with a domestic dispute on August 4, 2022.
Officers were dispatched to the residence in the 8000 block of Reeps Grove Church Road in Vale after receiving a report of shots being fired.
Detective J. Lail reported witnesses on the scene told officers that Joshua Lee Hull, 44, of Vale, NC discharged a shotgun into a vehicle occupied by Elizabeth Michelle Bailey.
The woman stated that Hull would not allow her to leave the residence and made comments about both of them dying.
She entered a truck to leave the residence and a shot was fired shattering the back glass. The victim was not injured by the shotgun blast.
Deputies arrived and located Hull in the residence and took him in custody. A search of the residence turned up several firearms. Hull is a convicted felon and is not allowed to own or have firearms.
He was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and charged with kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm into occupied property and identification theft. He was placed in the Harven A.
Crouse Detention Center under an $85,000 secured bond.
