The controversial jab mandate requiring police workers to have received at least one dose of the vaccine by Oct. 5 has prompted a backlash in the Australian state, with some officers claiming it’s against their human rights.
A short reprieve until Oct. 12 will allow applications for formal exemptions.
Police commissioner Katarina Carroll is grappling with incredibly suspending some 10% of Queensland’s forces – around 1,200 police – but has said the situation is manageable.
