Jeffrey Epstein‘s girlfriend – who was the last person outside prison to speak to him before his death – also paid the pedophile a visit in jail days earlier, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Karyna Shuliak was first identified in March 2020 as the woman the disgraced financier had last talked to on the phone from behind bars, the day before he was found hanged in his cell on August 10, 2019.
But prison records obtained by DailyMail.com now reveal that 11 days earlier, on July 30, Shuliak, a native of Belarus believed to be in her thirties, went to see the late pedophile at the grim Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan while he was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
She would have likely met Epstein in the notorious Special Housing Unit (SHU) of the now-shuttered MCC, where inmates were kept in their cells for up to 22 hours a day.
According to the source, the couple, who reportedly dated for seven years, seemed to have a ‘very serious relationship’.
In fact, such was Epstein’s affection for the much younger woman that on the night before his death, he even ordered his lawyers to leave so that he could speak to her on the phone, the insider said.
Prison records from Epstein’s suicide were released as part of a FOIA request and consist of more than 4,000 pages of reports, emails, and other material related to his time in pre-trial custody.
Visitor logs show a ‘Karina Shaliak’ – a misspelling of her name – was admitted to the MCC to visit Epstein on July 30 at 5:15pm – with all other visitors being lawyers. Epstein’s first name was also misspelled on the log as Jeffry.
Ten days later, Epstein was finishing his last full day alive and was meeting with his attorneys ahead of his final phone call.
