Jealous Man Allegedly Shot Ex-Girlfriend at Nail Salon Despite Active Protection Order
On January 16, 2026, officers responded to a shooting at a nail salon in the 3700 block of Northwest 7th Street in Miami, Florida. Authorities say a man who had previously been served with a risk protection order entered the salon and shot his ex-girlfriend during a confrontation.
The victim is a 23-year-old woman who worked at the salon.
According to the arrest report, the suspect — 23-year-old Job Jocelyn — had been repeatedly calling and texting the victim about their relationship and recently learned she had been communicating with another man. Investigators say she told him to stop contacting her and warned she would call police.
Police allege Jocelyn showed up at her workplace, confronted her, and asked, “Are you really calling the police?” before pulling out a firearm and shooting her in the left thigh.
Newly released surveillance footage shows the confrontation inside the salon before gunfire erupts. The suspect is seen briefly placing the firearm on the ground before picking it back up and fleeing the scene as the victim begins bleeding and limping away.
Authorities confirmed Jocelyn had previously been served with a risk protection order in May 2025 in connection to a prior domestic violence incident involving the same victim. He was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Jocelyn was arrested and charged with attempted felony murder and possession of a firearm in violation of a protection order. A judge ordered him held without bond and to have no contact with the victim.
