Oklahoma– Osage and Tulsa County deputies work together to arrest a man accused of paying $500 to have his wife killed.
The affidavit for James Turner says he met with a man and Turner said he needed his wife “gotten rid of” and said she “needs to go,” that he wanted her “gone today” because she had filed a protective order against him.
It says Turner gave the man 5, $100 bills to find someone to make it happen.
It says the man who met with Turner never had any intention of taking the job, but instead recorded all the conversations with Turner and immediately turned over the recordings and the cash to law enforcement.
Records show in Osage County:
June 29, 2021: Turner charged with misdemeanor violation of protective order.
July 2, 2021: Turner charged with misdemeanor violation of protective order
July 8, 2021: Turner charged with misdemeanor violation of protective order and contraband in jail
July 22, 2021: Turner charged with felony planning an act of violence, breaking and entering and violation of protective order
September 10, 2021: Turner charged with misdemeanor violation of protective order
- Tulsa County:
- September 15, 2021: Turner charged with felony soliciting murder.
- These are charges and not convictions.
- His current bond is $1 million.
