Israel Fears 40% of Population Infected in New Covid Wave
PM Naftali Bennett has revealed cabinet fears that up to 4MN Israelis will be infected in the latest Covid wave, as weekly rates quadrupled. Israel has just re-opened its borders to vaccinated visitors after six weeks locked out.
Almost half of Israel’s 9.3MN population is fully vaccinated with 3 shots but antigen and PCR tests are extremely scarce, with hours-long queues at pharmacies across the country.
“Our goal remains the same goal – to keep the economy functioning as much as possible, and safeguard the most vulnerable,” Bennett said.
