Husband Arrested In Nevada After Wife Found Dead In Pennsylvania
A Pennsylvania woman who had been reported missing last week was found dead Monday at her home in Uniontown. Police said Tuesday the suspect, the victim’s husband, was taken into custody in Nevada.
Nicole Zambrano was reported missing by co-workers at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort after she had not shown up for work for a few days. Lt. Thomas Kolencik said the investigation started Friday when police conducted a welfare check at her residence.
Police were initially told that Zambrano’s husband, 55-year-old Arthur Eugene Guty Jr., had left the state. Guty could not explain his wife’s whereabouts, and “when he did give us information, it wasn’t accurate,” Kolencik said.
Officials were unable to contact Zambrano and launched a search warrant after receiving additional tips.
Kolencik said Guty was taken into custody at a Las Vegas resort.
Officials said Guty was found at the Mardi Gras Casino Tuesday. He had $100,000 in cash on him. Police found him by pinging his cell phone to the Vegas area.
Police discovered Zambrano’s body Monday at her home on Bierer Avenue. Kolencik said she had “a gunshot wound to a vital part of the body.”
Uniontown police obtained an arrest warrant for Guty Monday night. He is facing charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault, court documents show.
