PANA, Ill. — Human skeletal remains have been found in Pana.
Illinois State Police said they found the remains on Saturday, March 20, in a field near the 2500 block of East Sixth Road in Pana.
According to ISP, the remains were found in an area to the north and east of the last known location of Daniel Crosby, who has been missing for over a year.
Crosby has not had any contact with his friends or family since Feb. 27, 2020, when he was in Pana. On March 18, 2020, he was reported missing to the Carterville Police Department.
he remains have not been identified at this time; further forensic review will be required to identify them.
ISP said preliminary evaluation of the remains revealed no obvious signs of trauma.
The remains were found during a search by the ISP Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 4, Christian-Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency, Pana Police Department, Pana Fire Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Christian County Coroner’s Office, ISP Crime Scene Services, and other agencies.
