Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male White adult in the city of Lancaster.
Deputies from the Lancaster Station responded to a “Gun-Shot Victim” call for service near the 1100 block of W. Avenue J 8 in Lancaster. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at approximately 12:20 P.M.
When deputies arrived, they located a male White adult, 54 years old, suffering from a gun-shot wound to the upper torso.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
A second male White adult victim, 76 years old, was located and had sustained a blunt force trauma to his upper torso.
The 76 year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.
Based on preliminary information, the investigators learned both victims were involved in an altercation at a residence. During the altercation, the 76 year-old victim was struck with a blunt instrument and the 54 year-old victim had been shot.
There is no suspect outstanding.
This investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available at this time.
