RawNews1st – Around 1:10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, our ECC received a 911 call from someone who found the victim, an adult white male, on the side of the road of Cypress Gardens Blvd near Helena Road, with significant injuries.

Deputies responded and it is apparent that the pedestrian was on or near the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle that was heading eastbound on CGB and turned onto Helena via the right-hand turn lane.

We do not know when the victim was hit, we only know when he was found.

There is no debris left behind at the scene but there are other indicators that this is a hit-and-run. There may be front-end damage to the suspect vehicle.

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition. We are still attempting to positively identify him and notify his next-of-kin.
