
As the sun comes up on Sunday, many people will be finding downed trees on their properties and possibly on homes and cars.
Structural damage from the winds may also be found in some areas — at least one 69mph gust was reported at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and two radar-confirmed tornadoes were reported in the Monticello area.
Nothing widespread yet, but the Fulton County Emergency Manager did report numerous trees were down around the county. There’s also a power line down reported at 3633 Cascade Palmetto Hwy.
In Atlanta, one death was confirmed at the scene of a tree on a house at Matilda Place in Grove Park.
The sheriff’s office says it has received “numerous reports of trees and power lines down in roadways” all over the county. They warn against driving over lines, which could be live. Hogansville is seeing “widespread damage” according to the police department. Hogansville Road is closed at Trimble Station Rd. due to tree limbs. Hwy. 54 is closed at Hammett Rd. also due to tree limbs.
