Oklahoma – man accused of making child pornography and the affidavit said there was a woman behind the camera, videotaping it…
At the time, many of you asked why the woman hadn’t been arrested.
Well, now, a woman has been arrested and she’s the suspect’s wife and a teacher at Bixby East Elementary school.
Both Jason and Heather Bycroft are charged in federal court with production of child pornography.
Court documents say a tip came in from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on August 5th about child pornography in a Dropbox account.
They say that account led investigators to Jason Bycroft and the original 24 minute video mentioned in the tip and they found other videos as well.
Documents say those videos were made in July of 2015 involving Bycroft a pool with a 6 year old girl, pulling aside her shorts to expose her genitals to the camera, and the woman who was holding the camera, videotaping it.
The documents say the voice behind the camera was identified as Heather Bycroft, who was dating Jason at the time, but, later married him.
Here is a statement from Bixby Public Schools:
The district was informed late Wednesday that Heather Bycroft, a first grade teacher in her second year at Bixby East Elementary, was arrested by federal authorities on charges related to child pornography.
Based on the information shared with the district to this point, we do not believe the alleged crime(s) involved any current or former BPS students.
To learn that a Bixby teacher entrusted with the safety and well-being of children may have been
involved in conduct as abhorrent as what has been alleged is highly disturbing.
We strongly condemn any actions on the part of an adult which endangers the mental or physical health of a child, particularly when done by someone in a position of public trust.
Ms. Bycroft has been suspended.
The district is in contact with authorities processing this case
and will act quickly and decisively to safeguard our students. In the interim, we will be communicating with families our plans for serving their children until a final resolution is reached.
