Haitian PM close links with suspect accused of murdering frmr president (reports)
Evidence is appearing to suggest that the man who assumed the leadership position of the country following the murder of President Jovenel Moïse, had links to his suspected killer.
Ariel Henry, a prominent neurosurgeon backed by the US, assumed the post of prime minister just two weeks after Moïse was killed at his residence in Port-au-Prince in July 2021.
Phone recordings and transcripts of interviews with Haitian officials obtained by the NYT, do appear to incriminate Henry with Joseph Felix Badio, a former justice official wanted by authorities on suspicion of organizing the attack – the pair reportedly keeping in contact even after the crime.
