8/26/2021- 9:27 a.m.
North Carolina – On August 25th, 2021 at 02:28 a.m. officers with the Graham Police Department responded to the Pilot travel plaza at 1044 Jimmie Kerr Rd. in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.
The suspects left the store prior to the officers getting there.
The responding officers were provided the suspect vehicle description from the victims, that were still on the scene.
A vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description was observed traveling west on U.S. 70, approximately 2 minutes after the initial call. Officer Louizes attempted to conduct an investigatory stop of the vehicle near U.S. 70 and Sellars Mill Rd.
The vehicle’s driver failed to stop, and a short pursuit ended with a traffic crash on Richards Avenue near Sellars Mill Rd. The driver and single passenger fled the crash scene on foot.
The driver, Tyrone Jaskson was apprehended near the crash. The passenger, an unknown black male in his 20’s, was able to evade responding officers.
After further investigation Mr. Jackson was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 2 counts of Second-Degree Kidnapping, 2 counts of Assault on a Female, Felonious Flee to Elude, Resisting a Public Officer, and Driving While Impaired.
He was transported to the Alamance County Jail and held under a $1 million secured bond.
