Google & Facebook struck closed-door deal to consolidate ad market
Newly unsealed court documents revealed the tech giants secretly signed a bid to consolidate the online advertising market.
According to the court documents seen by the WSJ, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, struck a deal in 2018 that gave preferences Facebook on Google’s ad auctions.
The documents are from an ongoing court case against the tech companies in Texas, run by the state’s AG Ken Paxton who has been a vocal critic of them both and is a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump.
