According to a survey done by GasBuddy, the gas prices within Fresno are up 8 cents compared to last month and have reached about $1.21 more than this time last year.
A recent survey has concluded that gas prices, not just in Fresno but throughout California, have risen as of late.
The survey says the cheapest gas prices in town have hit $3.88 and the highest have reached $4.69.
“According to GasBuddy data,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, “demand last week set another 2021 high, eclipsing the previous week’s record as we head into the prime of the summer driving season.”
While $4.69 might seem steep in Fresno, other gas stations within California have marked prices up to $6.29. The lowest price for gas in California has been recorded at $3.75.
In general, GasBuddy says the national average is 98.2 cents per gallon higher than last year.
“For the next week or two, we may continue to see gas prices inch higher, but once schools begin re-opening and vacation season ends, we’ll likely see demand trail off, allowing for gas prices to decline gently heading into Labor Day.”
