The decadeslong tradition is set to be in full swing April 3 between noon and 8 p.m. at nationwide Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops. Customers can also stand in line as many times as they please and choose any Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor during their visit.
Janna Kaufman, a franchise owner of three Bay Area stores, told SFGATE that she was thrilled to welcome customers back for the event at her Fisherman’s Wharf locations at Pier 41 and 475 Jefferson St., as well as her Berkeley shop at 2130 Center St.
Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day has been held for more than 40 years.
Several flavors are available only in Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops including Marshmallow Sky, Peanut Butter Cup Sundae, and Strawberry.
New flavors dropping in 2023 include Bustterscotch’d — butterscotch ice cream with bustterscotch swirls and chocolate pretzel bark — and Chocolate Peanut Butter Chunk — chocolate peanut butter ice cream with peanut butter swirls and fudge flakes.
